Aug 19, 2019  Ever since I upgraded to Windows 7 I have been unable to run a interactive dvd. I get a message that states 'Video not available, cannot find 'VIDS:IV50'decompressor' I can't seem to. Mar 11, 2002 - Hi, one of my friends is having an error while loading Flight Simulator 2000 (a bit old I know). There's a vid that is supposed to be showed but at that place there is a nice message saying 'Cannot find VIDS:iv41 decompressor'. I did a search for this error and found this. Since the link is broken now, I've.

I've got a presentation with two movies in it. The original movies were quicktime movies, but were then converted to AVIs. They play fine from NT as AVIs, but when I import them into Director 7, the cast member comes in as an error message saying, 'Video not available, cannot find 'vids:IV41' decompressor'. I'm struggling desperately to finish this project, and can't get the vidoes to play.

The client specified AVIs, so I can't use what works (Quicktime!) Anyone know a fix? Thanks, Matthew Sweet Matthew 00:00. Matthew, I just finished a director project wherein i was forced to use AVI's. And ran into a similar problem. Are you using quicktime 3 on the mac AND on the PC? The codecs included with quicktime 3 are not entirely standardized cross platform.

My workaround was to rerender my movies on the PC using the Cinepac compressor, which is not quicktime 3 proprietary and will run on virtually any windows 95 or better machine. To check your PC, you might open the avi in premiere on NT, place it on the construction window and hit 'make movie'. Check the compression settings dialog and see if the same Indeo compressor is available. Hope this helps! Will fantini electron3 media William Fantini 00:00. ThanksMatthew Sweet Cappres 00:00. I strongly suggest that you compress the video with the intel indeo 3.2 codec. Every windows 95 or newer machine will have it, and it is a very consistent compression codec. It will work all the time and it will look good.

Some of the other codecs that you could use for windows don't always give good results. Good luck Brian Matthew wrote in message. Sorry forgot to specify the codec.

Feedback VJsync wrote: Just to clarify, with these entry’s do i need to install some sort of decoder? And does this work with IV4? I have a windows 7 64 bits system, and i really really need to edit a lot of old vids that i have and covert them to new formats:( download and install these codec: player: (32-bit version; the 64-bit version will NOT work with Indeo) you’ll need this player because Windows Media Player will refuse to play it even with the codec installed then run the registry patch (post #6) you can edit or convert it with VirtualDub (32-bit version; the 64-bit version will NOT work with Indeo) if you need a popular codec to encode it with, use xvid (click xvid 1.2.2 and save then install). Feedback Ok I am no wiz here but here goes on what I have done. Running windows 7 home premium. I went to the start and typed regedit. I opened the editor Ver 6.1 I went to this location: HKEYLOCALMACHINE SOFTWARE Microsoft Windows NT CurrentVersion Drivers32 then I would go to EditNEWString value under value name I put: vidc.iv31 under value data I put ir3232.dll I did the same for the others.

I then search for each DLL file to ensure I had them and each was found. Is there something I am doing wrong?

As I understand it this is what KM said to do? The only difference is my regedit is ver 6.1 not 5: key master wrote: You can get Intel Video to play in Vista with the following registry changes.

Works like a charm. At least with my videos. In the case of a 64-bit OS, you will need to put them in HKEYLOCALMACHINE SOFTWARE Wow6432Node Microsoft Windows NT CurrentVersion Drivers32 (note the additional Wow6432Node in the path). This is because there are (for all intents and purposes) no 64-bit codecs, so you need to put them in the 32-bit part of the Registry. Worked perfectly for me, Windows 7 64bit.
